Appreciation Avenue: 4 Easy (and Free) Ways to Show Appreciation

Did you know that this week is Teacher Appreciation Week? At eMINTS National Center , we are celebrating all month long (and every month)!

Acts of Service

The easiest and least expensive thing you can do to show appreciation for others is to give a little of your time in acts of service. The opportunities are endless.?

You might try:

  • Volunteering at events
  • Creating materials
  • Mentoring
  • Tutoring
  • Sharing lesson ideas
  • Covering a duty
  • Holding the door
  • Running errands
  • Cleaning up or organizing
  • Making copies for a colleague
  • Offering a listening ear

Acts of service are a great, free way to show others you appreciate them.

Genuine Praise

Another way to show appreciation is through expressing genuine and authentic praise. Notice something positive in another person, make a note of it, and then express it to that person. Get comfortable with communicating this positivity. Let praising others fill your bucket.

Genuine praise is another way to show others you appreciate them.

Digital eCards

Use free, digital platforms (such as Greetings Island, 123 Greetings, or World Wildlife Fund) to send eCards to those you appreciate without ever signing in or creating an account! All you need is a sender's and recipient's email address to show your gratitude!

Digital eCards are another free and easy way to express gratitude to others.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

Finally, in the #education world, you can show your appreciation for your colleagues through interdisciplinary collaboration. Align content, co-plan, and co-teach across subject areas or grade levels to celebrate colleagues’ strengths and unique content knowledge.

Interdisciplinary collaboration is an easy way to show others you appreciate their unique content knowledge.
