Appreciating our Veterans

Appreciating our Veterans

With Veterans Day approaching, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on the immeasurable sacrifices of our Armed Forces and express my deepest gratitude for their service. It can be easy to take our many freedoms for granted at times, but on Veterans Day, we remember the men and women who have fought—and continue to fight—to preserve our ideals and make us proud to be Americans every day. They answer the call to serve with unwavering bravery and humility. For that, we are truly grateful.??

The day holds a special significance in the University of Phoenix community, as many of our faculty, employees, and students have served or have loved ones who have served. I want to offer my sincere appreciation for their selflessness and dedication, and make clear what an honor it is to work with them every day. Their service and all that they do to enrich our communities is an inspiration.

Although we can’t fully repay our servicemembers for their sacrifices, I want to acknowledge the small role we as educators can play in helping them realize their dreams after service as they transition to civilian careers. I have profound respect and admiration for our students and alumni who are determined to advance their skills and continue contributing to our society in new ways. We are committed to changing lives through higher education, and helping our veterans seize new opportunities and reach their career goals is one of the most vital aspects of this commitment.

I also encourage everyone to find a quiet moment to give thanks and remember the men and women who serve to protect the hard-won freedoms we hold so dear.?
