Embrace the Grind; Success Is Not Created Overnight!

The journey is not always easy. I think back to graduating college and humble beginnings, working as an assistant for two other Realtors, picking up shoe orders from Nordstrom and dropping off dry cleaning etc. I took this position to get exposure to the industry and I am forever grateful for that opportunity, even though I did not enjoy some of the tasks that had nothing to do with real estate. I think back to the day that she gave me the keys to her Maserati for the day, and I was so excited to drive that car. I dreamt of owning a car like that. Today, I own that car.

I think back to the beginning when I first got my license. Working 90 hour weeks, for three months straight, with no pay check in return. I think back to endless hours at the office followed by never-ending nights working as a bouncer at a bar until 3:00AM. I think back to those late night shifts being followed by open houses and exhausting weekends. I dreamt of the day that I could quit that job as a bouncer. Today, I own my own corporation and successfully run a business that generates seven figures a year.

I think back to waking up at 4:30AM and dropping 500 flyers before going into the office. I think back to being the only one at the office at 11:00PM, dreading the drive back up Hwy 17 to go home while I was living at my moms house. I dreamt of owning my own home. Today, I am getting to build my own custom house!

These are just a few examples of the grind that it took to get to where I am today. It didn’t happen overnight. Every action serves a purpose, no matter how insignificant you think it might be. If you are not taking into consideration what purpose is behind your actions, why even act?

The real estate industry, just like the majority of other careers, is not rocket science. If you are willing to work harder than everyone else, your results will differ from everyone else. You have to be willing to make sacrifices. You have to be determined. You have to be persistent. You have to be consistent. You have to be willing to grind. You have to be willing to take the actions that others are not willing to take, or are inconvenienced by.

You are the only one that is in control of your destiny, no one but yourself. Your actions determine what your future is going to look like. You are truly the only one stopping yourself from accomplishing what you desire.
