Brian, you are "spot-on" with the Tesla appraisals. Tesla is currently 60% of EV market and if dealers do not understand the variance's in appraisal information and how to utilize the variance to their benefit appraising Tesla's, they will lengthen the time their store takes to "buy-in" to the EV world. f If Tesla's aren't properly appraised you will miss deals or lose money in remarketing the Tesla trade-in. Most appraisers are so confident in the tool they have (even though it may have outdated info) that they are UNWILLING to accept that more accurate and dated information may be available.

Agree the commitment to a single posted price is somewhat laudable. But there is a difference. Most incentives are limited to a time and to rightsize inventory issues that theoretically will be corrected with model year turnover etc. so the next MY will be back to square one and current owners won't see a huge hit to resale value. Actually, each MY usually ticks up a few hundred bucks no matter what. Tesla's price slashes over just one year have hit current owners immediately and it looks like it will never bounce back like an OEM turning to a new model year.
