Appointed at Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival 2024

As I announced earlier , I've been appointed as a Juror of the upcoming Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in the Social & Influencer Lions category for this year. It's an incredible opportunity and a lifetime achievement, for every business leader that fosters creativity in business. I couldn't think that one day, I'll sit on the chair to discuss the remarquables pieces that spread creativity around the globe ??

Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2024

Prior to the festival, I wanted to give you some highlights that I've seen during the judging experience that I found very interesting. I can deeply summarize it on three various societies main standpoints, that open the conversations and lead the global way. After more than 20hours to watch more than 350 campaigns globally, I saw three key various of creativity that caught my eyes:

  • KIDS ABDUCTION : I have learned so much by the fact that kid abduction happens frequently in so many countries in the world, generally speaking I've observed so many campaigns that engage on this topic. And this subject is so important to address! Especially to inform people. Several countries around the world raise the issue of child abduction and express themselves through awareness-raising campaigns to raise the debate on a cause that touched me, and it's plaguing some countries such as Mexico or Belgium to name a few, the recent campaign of the Child Focus Belgium association is an example that I encourage you to watch.
  • NEURODIVERSITY REALLY MATTERS : The amplification of the message from a part of the marginalized population are often forgotten in social conversations. I was so happy to see some cases that really address a message including deaf people whose topic is rarely discussed and one of the recent campaigns, including T-Mobile in the Netherlands, is an illustrious example on highlighting deaf people in a beautiful way. A real must-see!
  • INVISIBILITY OF WOMEN’S ATHLETES : The lack of visibility of women athletes in sports, especially in football with a significant financial consequence. A lack of visibility on screens, in the public sphere and which are reflected in social conversations. This is the case in some countries such as Costa Rica, where former female football players do not have the recordings of their matches due to lack of considerations of the leagues and broadcasters, which gives a feeling of lower level to male athletes. This is the case of FIFCO, IMPERIAL which illustrates this in a very creative proposition.
