Applying for the Turing Scheme? We can help!

Hi Teachers and Lecturers!

Have you heard about the Turing Scheme? It’s a huge pot of funding available to schools, colleges and universities, to enable students and learners from the UK the opportunity to travel abroad for academic or work-related experiences. It aims to support the development of new skills, increase cultural understanding, and provide personal and professional growth opportunities.

Applications for 2025/26 academic year are likely to open in late Jan/early Feb 2025 and close in late Feb/mid March. If you are looking to apply for study trip funding, you will need to outline details of the trip you would like to take your students on before you submit your application. This is where we step in….we have already created some project opportunities that meet the criteria for the application and will make applying for the funding a breeze.

Our team designs awesome adventures around the world focused on conservation, sustainability, personal development and mental health and we have some ‘Turing-specific’ projects we think you might like.

Read on to hear from our Turing expert and all will become clear!

Meet your Turing expert, Rob.….

Turing expert, Rob Wilson

“The Turing Scheme offers education providers the opportunity to apply for funding to support their students with study and work placements around the world. It helps students of all income groups experience educational opportunities worldwide and aims to address the barriers that prevent some students from travelling abroad for programmes of study.

Using the current 2024/25 framework and guidance on the Turing Scheme from the Department for Education, we are pleased to be able to offer the below projects to support you in your Turing bid. (The new guidance and requirements are yet to be published for the 2025/26 academic year).

Based on the current Turing Scheme, funding is available in two grants; a ‘cost of living’ grant and a ‘travel grant’. Using the calculations from the 2024/25 academic year, we have provided a range of study trip oferrings and the costs involved with each, to support you in the bid writing process.

Each destination below has a bespoke microsite which has details of the project itinerary and overview - we think you’ll be excited!”

Time to take your class out of the classroom - where could Turing take you?

£1071 per student
£171 per student
£671 Per student
£271 per student

£821 per student

£321 per student

“Please note - the costs above do not include additional funding available for SEND students as this will be on a case-by-case basis or for staff to support your students on a project.

The costs are based on obtaining the £1279 cost of living grant for the duration of the project for Further Education institutions (for the 1st 14 days, £87 is available per day, after 14 days the cost of living grant goes down to £61 per day). For FE institutions, European projects need to be a minimum of 14 days and worldwide a minimum of 15 days.”

I am having real problems getting on to the application pages. Our school is approved but I haven’t had any helpful support from DFE or Turing funding to be able to proceed and sadly there isn’t a phone number to be able to speak to someone. Please advise
