Applying Service Updates to Dev Environment in D365 F&O

This artilce will answer the following questions:

Multiple failures can happen during your update. Most of them are mentioned in the articles mentioned in above links.

There is an issue which I faced recently while applying Service Update 10.0.40 and this issue has not been properly addressed yet on the forums onl. This seems to be a bug in the package that we download from LCS.

Issue: Sometimes the update fails at Step 31 saying DIXFService\scripts\VER2012\DMFConfig.XML file not found. This file DMFConfig.XML is present in VER2022 folder of the downloaded folder. Ideally this should be present int VER2012 folder instead of VER2022 folder as the error says.

Solution: Just go to the above folder and rename VER2022 to VER2012 and then re run step 31 and it will pass through.
