Welcome to the latest edition of The Job Seeker Hub newsletter! Thanks to your participation in our recent LinkedIn poll (a big shoutout to everyone who voted ??), we are excited to share valuable tips to help you navigate the 2025 application cycle confidently. This guide will be divided into two editions, with the second and final part coming your way next week.
Applying for internships can be time-consuming and mentally exhausting, but having a clear strategy can help you manage the process more effectively and give you the confidence to approach each application with a focused mindset. We have put together a list of strategies to guide you through the process, and we hope it helps make your internship search a little easier.

1) Clarify your objectives and goals early on
Feel free to jump to the next tip if you already have a clear idea of the industries and roles you're targeting. However, if you're still uncertain (which is perfectly okay!), it's worth spending some time reflecting on your previous experiences and educational background before diving into applications. Interviews and assessment centres can also help you better understand what you enjoy and don’t. Start by asking yourself the following key questions:
2) Take Advantage of The Job Seeker Hub Application Tracker
We’re excited to introduce our brand-new application tracker, which features hundreds of opportunities across various industries like tech, banking, pharma, and more. We've done the legwork, so you don’t have to! The tracker is updated daily and includes opportunities from various countries, including the UK, the US, France, Singapore, China, and beyond.
Using a tracker can help you stay organised by keeping tabs on open opportunities and upcoming deadlines. Be sure to check out The Job Seeker Hub 2025 application tracker and be amongst the first to discover new openings!
In addition to our tracker, we recommend creating your personalised application tracker using Notion (for simplicity). This will allow you to monitor all the roles you’ve applied for, save each CV (resume) and cover letter (if applicable), and store the job description for every role (make sure to download job descriptions as PDF files). These documents will be crucial when invited for interviews or assessment centres. Finally, track your progress through each stage of the application process (e.g., applied, online assessment invitation, HireVue completed, etc.).
3) Customize Each Application for the Role and Company
Customising your CV and cover letter for each specific role and company is essential. Recruiters can quickly spot a generic CV, diminishing your chances of landing an interview. While having a comprehensive CV that includes all your experiences, such as internships and insight events, is useful, it's crucial to tailor these details to align with the job you're applying for. Highlight the most relevant experiences and skills for each role. 83% of recruiters are more inclined to consider candidates who have personalised their resume for the job they're applying for (Source: Hire Austim)
4) Consider Making Batch Applications
Avoid applying for jobs haphazardly. Instead, schedule dedicated blocks of time—such as 2-3 hours each day—to focus on applying for roles that interest you. Similarly, allocate specific times during the week or weekend to tackle online assessments and HireVue interviews. Many companies send automated tests that must be completed within a set timeframe, often within five days of receiving the invitation. Plan accordingly and make use of any free practice tests provided to you. This structured approach can help streamline your application process and increase your efficiency.

5) Optimise your LinkedIn Profile
Ensure your LinkedIn profile is optimised with relevant keywords, updated experiences, and a clear headline. Since many recruiters search for candidates on LinkedIn, making your profile stand out is crucial.
Incorporate skills and keywords that align with the roles you’re targeting for 2025, and consider using the "Open to Work" feature to let recruiters know you’re available if you’re comfortable with that.
Ensure you have a professional profile picture and complete the ‘About’ section with details about your goals, ambitions, previous internship experiences, and academic background. An up-to-date and well-crafted LinkedIn profile can attract attention from recruiters who are actively headhunting candidates.
Final Remarks:
Finally, list your top five to ten dream companies and research their hiring trends. Do they prioritise experience over academic achievements or the other way around? What is their recruitment process, and how can you best prepare? Is your degree relevant to their needs? Understanding these details will significantly boost your chances of securing an offer.
