I had the amazing opportunity of attending the third edition of EATLW - East Africa Textile and Leather Week 2024 at Sarit expo Centre between 23rd-25th May. This being my second year at the expo, I was thrilled to meet my favourite manufacturers again for the second year in a row as well as new manufacturers. One manufacturer that caught my attention this year was Spinners and Spinners Ltd who also have a fashion brand line #texStyle & #butterfly.
Founded in 1979 and headquartered in Kenya, Spinners & Spinners Ltd (S&S) is a company with a rich entrepreneurial heritage in the region. Embracing the beauty of cultural diversity, S&S employs over 1,500 people directly, with the multiplier effect significantly enhancing the livelihoods of many more individuals and families.
By consistently investing in Kaizen, embracing technological advancements, and adhering to global standards in quality and environmental care (ISO 9001 & 14001 certifications), as well as ethical operations (SMETA certification covering labor, health & safety, environment, and business ethics), S&S continues to evolve and maintain its relevance in the textile sector.
The role of technology in textile manufacturing is inevitable. Spinners and Spinners Ltd are at per with the trends in technology especially during their colour matching and colour recipe formulation.
Here's how technology has completely elevated the whole process of textile manufacturing.

Future Outlook
The importance and success of AI in the textile industry are set to grow as machine learning algorithms become more sophisticated and computing power increases. This will lead to further advancements in automation, quality control, and supply chain management, driving enhanced productivity, reduced environmental impact, and improved customer experiences. AI's role in the textile industry underscores the potential for technology to transform traditional manufacturing processes and create a more sustainable and efficient future.
Central to Spinners and Spinners Ltd ethos is a commitment to ongoing investment in its workforce through technical training, career development, and personal growth opportunities. This commitment fosters an environment that encourages innovation and advancement.
A key element of S&S’s sustained growth is the high level of trust and long-term relationships with suppliers, service partners such as Shop Zetu & Vivo Fashion Group and customers. This strength has enabled the company to maintain a significant presence in the Pan African market, with a forward-looking global perspective.
Glad that we were an inspiration to you! ??
