APPLICATION SPOTLIGHT
RDL offers several Dante to Format-A hybrid interfaces that allow you to use RDL’s economically priced Format-A Sender and Receiver modules as endpoints.?On average, this provides a cost-saving of 20 to 30% over similarly featured systems with Dante-only endpoints.?Paired with these hybrid interfaces, RDL’s Format-A endpoints connect, look and function like traditional Dante interfaces.?And similar to Dante, Format-A distributes audio signals and electrical power over standard CATx cables, but can support audio distances up to 3,000 feet (900 meters) or more, which greatly exceeds the IP network distance limitation of 100-meters.
This week’s Application Spotlight features our RU-NFD Network to Format-A Interface/Distributor, along with some innovative Format-A products.??
In this system application drawing, three styles of music are distributed throughout an office complex over a combination Dante audio network and RDL Format-A distribution.?An RU-NFD Network to Format-A Interface/Distributor is used to convert networked audio sources to Format-A. Audio and power is supplied to a source selector and active speaker in each office through a dedicated CATx cable. A D-TPRX3A Source Selector and a D-PSP1 Active Loudspeaker is installed in each office allowing employees to select any of the three music channels, adjust the volume level or mute the audio altogether.
