APPLICATION SPOTLIGHT
In this week’s Application Spotlight, we show how a Dante system can support a meeting room that uses a variety of portable PA systems.? Although a meeting room is depicted, this application is ideal for any facility that uses portable PA systems such as lodges, VA halls, House of Worship (HOW) fellowship halls, multipurpose rooms, event spaces, and more.? ?
RDL’s DD?RN42 Wall-Mounted Bi-Directional Mic/Line Dante Interface 4 x 2 is an ideal endpoint choice for this application.? This interface features two XLR mic or line level inputs on the front panel, two balanced line inputs on a rear-panel detachable terminal block (ideal for adding an additional connector plate for line level sources), and two balanced line outputs on front-panel XLR jacks.? This unit is configured and adjusted using RDL CONSOLE software or other network control software, it is PoE powered, and it’s available in white, black, or stainless steel.
In this drawing example, one of the DD?RN42’s XLR inputs is configured to support the lectern’s condenser microphone, which requires Phantom power.? The signal is routed to a centrally?located Dante?enabled DSP for processing.? The processed signal is then distributed to the interface’s two XLR outputs which feed the balanced analog inputs on two portable active loudspeakers.
