Wanna get hired or at least a job call? Let HR call you!
Wanna beat (Hack) the ATS? and, what's the ATS?
Why is my application not viewed? am applying for an online job but not getting any calls!!
What is an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and how does it work?
The Applicant Tracking System ATS is software that provides tools that can manage the recruiting and hiring process via artificial intelligence. It is designed to help the HR department to manage, sort, scan, control, and speed up the CVs that match the job description, so they can shortlist the candidates.
The software keeps all these resumes in one place and saves time by automatically surfacing and highlighting top candidates, the main function of ATS is to recognize the least-qualified candidates, rather than flagging the best fit.
So, when you're applying for an online job, your resume will not typically be going directly to the hiring manager, it's first being processed by ATS, whether the human recruiter ever sees your resume depends on how your resume is optimized for ATS algorithms.
Resume formatting matters:
Designing your resume is a very significant matter, when it’s uploaded to the ATS does not mean that the recruiter will view your resume, some ATS parse the document into a digital profile to make things uniform and searchable, in the meantime many ATS parsing algorithms are outdated and unintelligent, which causing your resume information will be distorted or even lost, which means vital keywords or details might not be imported.
After the ATS score and rank the received resumes based on how they will match the employer’s established criteria, the candidate might be rejected by the ATS (however qualified) if (the main reasons):
1-????Candidate forget, fail, or any reason that causing not to implement or face the chosen keywords by the employer in the job description or responsibilities.
2-????The font or formatting of the resume is unusual and difficult to be scanned.
3-????The heading of the sections is not simple and complicated.
Recommendation to avoid the mis-formatting:
1-????Use consistent formatting for your work history.
2-????Avoid tables.
3-????Use the only accepted extension by the employer. (Mostly .docx or .pdf)
4-????Don’t repeat the main keyword multiple times.

5-????Focus on your accomplishments rather than just re-writing the job description.
6-????Try as much as you can not write long sentences and paragraphs that contain long-winded stories.
7-????Promote and focus on your hard skills.
8-????Use specific keywords that are mentioned in the job description.
9-????Logos, images, header, footer, and other visuals are prohibited by ATS scannable.
10-??Use the mostly and the common fonts that ATS can scan like: (Arial, Helvetica, Times New Roman, Garamond, Georgia, or Cambria)
Note: Soft skills and commonly used keywords like “team player,” “self-starter” and “dynamic” cannot be quantified or assessed by an ATS. Recruiters will not be looking for these items in ATS-ranked resumes, so be sure to focus on technical skills, software, credentials, and official titles.
How to beat Applicant Tracking System (ATS-friendly resume):
There is no universal trick to “beating” applicant tracking systems. Getting past an ATS and landing a job interview requires a well-written resume that is mindful of ATS algorithms as well as the people pushing the buttons.
But I can show the simplest advice as follow:
1-????Make your resume tailored to the job description every time you apply.
2-????Get the max optimization for ATS search and ranking algorithms by matching your resume keywords with the job description.
3-????If any acronym is mentioned as a keyword in the job description, you use them and you can use long forms as well like Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
4-????list your work history in chronological order.
