Is Apple Sandbagging for 2017
Ho Hum, Yesterday, I was upset that Apple was a distraction from CTIA which actually has some real news from a variety of sources.
It's hard to make the case that 1983 Mario and 9 year old iPhone were worthy of all the people's attention.
While the speed improved, Apple once again changed it's habitat making all the peripherals obsolete.
But ignoring that we have to remember that next year is the iPhones' Ten Year Birthday. In my area we call 10 year olds tween, because they are teens yet, but they aren't kids anymore either.
In Apple's case they have been tweening the iPhone for a while. now. Milking it with the S and I would contend the 7 is a tweener as well.
Now comes the real question does the iPhone8 continuing the tweening or will it be something that awes us?
In theory, Apple has been looking at the special occasion and made sure that the 7 was something less than the 8. It could be however that at ten we will reminisce and still be ho hum.
Let's give them credit. They changed the world 10 years ago, but so did AOL and Blackberry.
I built a session for IoT Evolution to look at the iPhone's impact. I called it Ten Years After which is the name of a band that played at Woodstock. Their appearance today looks pretty retro. It was shocking to me no one remembered the group.
but what about the original iPhone!
We will see if the iPhone fades in favor. Let's assume for today that next year Apple will Rock on!
