Apple Pay

Apple Pay

Mobile payments are the hot phrase of the season. Since Apple Pay’s announcement in 2014 and now Samsung and Microsoft’s upcoming payment solutions, adding mobile payments will be a hot demand for developers.

Adding Apple Pay to iOS apps offers another avenue for developers and businesses to accept payments, stay at the forefront of technology and offer your customers a new way to pay. Given its hot demand and relative newness on the tech scene, some iOS developers may find themselves needing guidance on how to integrate Apple Pay into their existing iOS apps.

So how do you integrate Apple Pay into your existing iOS app? Luckily, Simplify Commerce has created installation instructions and a tutorial on enabling iOS Apple Pay for your iOS apps accepting payments with Simplify Commerce.

Our iOS documentation will help you begin accepting payments on iOS apps and show how simply and quickly Simplify Commerce can integrate with your mobile app. In our documentation you will be walked through each step required to develop an iOS payment solution.

Getting started on iOS

The first steps for developing on iOS are outlined in our iOS SDK installation instructions and include details on adding the iOS framework, setting up the API keys and collecting card information using the view controller. Lastly, we go over creating a card token and provide you with examples to make a payment on your server.

Enabling and testing Apple Pay

After you’ve completed the installation steps you are ready to enable Apple Pay into your iOS app. Our Apple Pay iOS SDK will help you set up Apple Pay and begin testing.

You can begin testing against the Apple Pay API today with our free, easy-to-use developer sandbox account. Also, since Apple Pay necessitates a real card number, we enable specific charge amounts to allow you test various payment states. Please refer to the testing documentation for more details.

Our new Apple Pay tutorial and installation instructions should cut your development time significantly and get your iOS app up and running with Apple Pay quickly.
