Apple announced one of the biggest updates to its pricing capabilities since the App Store first launched. So what does that mean for app publishers?
- Developers can now access more than 700 additional price points, bringing the total number of available price points up to 900.
- Prices can now range from as little as $0.29 all the way up to an eye-opening $10K - although any costs higher than 1K must be explained and justified with Apple beforehand.
- In the lower tier, pricing in $0.10 increments is possible. That gives more scope than ever to experiment with different pricing structures and find what works best for your app and your users.
- Setting prices as low as $0.29 may encourage freemium app developers to start charging for their apps.
