I'll be honest, I have my AirPods in my ears many hours throughout a normal day... I simply love them.

I also have noticed how nice they are for not only listening to podcasts and music, but also answering calls, etc. They are some incredible technology that just is seamless.

Having them in daily, I have experienced times when a truck drives by with a loud screech or even just a high-pitched noise near me the AirPods will kick in with their noise cancellation software and block the noise. At first, I was caught off guard, but then I realized that these little pods are protecting my hearing!

I have since told other people about this unspoken feature as the noise cancellation software is typically expressed in connection to phone calls, listening to music, etc. but I have become quite an advocate for these in regard to hearing health.

苹果 's newest position for the AirPods aligns with this perfectly! They are leaning into this existing feature and now building on it.

Just as they have successfully done with the Apple Watch and metric tracking, they have slowly eased into the healthcare market. This addition to the AirPods reinforces this transition and speaks to a huge market of the hearing aid. According to Fortune "The global hearing aids market size was valued at USD 12.96 billion in 2023, and is projected to grow from USD 14.35 billion in 2024 to USD 34.76 billion by 2032"

As you can see, this clever positioning for a great product is not only great for marketing but also quite a frothy market globally.

From Product to Service

In 2016, I bought the first-generation AirPods and quickly told others how magical they truly are. I even said that they may be the most underrated 苹果 product ever. Well.. turns out that AirPods revenues generate roughly $12.1 billion per year, more than the revenue of Spotify, Twitter, or Shopify.

Now over the recent 5+ years we have witnessed one of the largest global brands transition from a product company into a service company. Yes, Apple is transitioning its model right under our noses! Many consumers don't realize this too!

This relates to why we have seen a drastic reduction in iPhone advancements as the internal services and associated services have been the focus, from Apple's iCloud storage to music, TV, fitness, gaming, news, and now healthcare we can see how Apple has been repositioning.

I believe it to be quite brilliant as they have successfully claimed the tech market on many fronts and now are transforming product buyers into recurring subscriptions. The new update to AirPods relates to this because the product is adding immense value to a new category beyond just earbuds. Yes, listening to music is nice and convenient, but now these are distinct because they are healthcare-related.

This transformation is not over and doesn't mean Apple will abandon products, but we will see them further their position into lucrative markets like healthcare. Just as they have entered the finance sector with their credit card, we will see how Apple Wallet, News, and others are going to advance these sectors when it comes to blockchain, ai, education, and other technological advancements.

Overall, this brilliant position for the AirPods will unlock further the new horizon for Apple as the brand as a whole is transforming from the inside out.
