Apple is God, AI girlfriends and building a company for the next generation

03.05.24 | Issue #7

Apple's iPhone sales have stalled, but earnings are up, so is the share price and they have more money than you can imagine. Newspapers are simultaneously suing and making deals with OpenAI. If you can't beat them, join them.

Sweetgreen starts selling meat and Skittles gets a brand refresh.

I am excited about the new consumer fund Intuition, even if it has the same douchy VC smell of 'never-built-anything but here to write cheques'. At least money is going into consumer brands.

My son asked me this week what I paid to go to University. Aged eleven, he let me know he didn't need a degree because he was going to take over my company. Riddled with fear, I got to thinking: What does building a company ready for a future generation look like?

Let's rise together with every issue. ??

I think our children and their children will be able to start doing business at much earlier age. Kids grow up in a different way now, their brain grows up faster + they are born in the era of information and technologies. It’s neither good nor bad, it is what it is)?

Could it be that it's a company that needs to be able to flex. We are sometimes very different to our children and don't know who they will be as they get older. However I think if I built something that I lived and breathed the values of the business and had built it from a place I believed to be good. I would hope that my children would be able to see that and take it forward in their own way, whatever that looked like in this ever changing world!
