An apple a day, keeps the Doctor away ... seriously
I'm a hiker, an outdoor walker, I go out tramping in mother nature; sometimes just a beach walk, sometimes amazing mountain climbing - but always out in mother nature. I go MTB riding, too and swimming and lots of HIIT classes and Pilates classes. Full disclosure: I take my own food, healthy food.
Are you like me? Do you tick all those boxes we are supposed to tick:
Those four easy, simple things have such a huge impact on our health ... and the life we live. And it all starts with the food we consume. If we eat junk food, it energises our body initially but then it brings us right down to just wanting to lay on the couch and watch a streaming service... and eat more.
If we eat fresh produce it energises our body (and mind) over several hours, keeping us focussed and productive and ready to take a hike or at work, focus on what we are doing, no snacking just a breakfast, a lunch and a dinner - maybe an apple or a mandarin as well...
Food also impacts our sleep. Eating a sugary dessert at night reduces our total amount of sleep and also, most importantly, reduces our REM (rapid eye movement sleep) and Deep sleep. These two types of sleep functions impact our next day ... our productivity, our ability to jump out of bed, eat a healthy breakfast, do a quick gym class or even an online exercise class, get ready to jump into our amazing day.

With junk food, fast-food and even 'so-called' healthy products that are full of sugar+salt+fat they will exhaust you. Your sleep will be lacking in amount of time and also the type of sleep. Then when you wake up to get into your day, you'll be exhausted ... already! That will push you to just have a coffee for breakfast (which then pushes you to have treats at 10am). No exercise. No fresh fruit, no healthy products and an exhausting, day.
In fact, the day could also be angry, resentful, aggressive behaviour to others - why? Because junk food has ingredients that 'cause' these behaviours. Fresh food doesn't. Exercise doesn't. Brilliant sleep doesn't.
There is so much I could learn from you ... but there are some simple things you could learn from me.

2 年Hi Linda! I feel like sharing something I got to learn through my mentor. It is not just the food that we eat but, also the kind of thoughts we harbour in our mind, that contributes to one's health. Daily reflection of one's responses to various situations of the day.. what thoughts came to their mind, how they were feeling in the moment. and how they feel afterwards- could be a starting point. Love
