There are massive reports doing rounds that Apple might launch its first-ever search engine to compete against global giants like Google. It will function on the same crawling concept through the 'Applebot' scanning the website as a crawler.
Until now, Google used to pay a massive amount of finances, in billions to Apple to allow it to be the priority search engine for its users on Safari for IOS, IPadOS, and MacOS, which implies that iPhone, iPad, and Mac users use Google as their default search engine.
However, as per current reports, this deal might come to an end since 'Apple,' because of the recent defaults and pre-installations on Mobile Devices, is considering breaking its ties with Google and launching its own Search Engine. Any further dealing with Google in such respect might create a significant barrier to entry in the international market.
It may cause severe repercussions from the European Union as well since they have a history of targeting Google's anti-competitive behaviour and attitudes. They might pressure Apple to disallow its users, preferably Safari, to use Google as a search engine and give them the exclusive right to choose the search engine according to their free will while launching Safari.
The reason behind Apple launching its Search Engine
Besides regulatory pressures and market competitiveness, several factors paved the way for Apple to launch its search engine, for instance, the maturation of Apple's Siri and iCloud.
Market Autonomy
Apple is now the most valuable company in the entire world, with a humongous net worth. There can't be any reason why they would want to rely on Google in any respect. They no longer want to depend on Google Finances or restrain themselves from launching their search engine in the market or from tapping into newer markets and domains.
RESEARCH
Apple is pouring in massive amounts of capital infrastructure on its research and development to launch its search engine. Their recent job listings for Search Engineers on their website indicate this aspect very vividly.
They are also incorporating AI, MLP, and NLP for their optimizing their services.
RECENT UPDATE TO 'About AppleBot Web Crawler Page'
Apple gave its first significant indication when it updated it's 'About AppleBot Support Page.' There was a strong peculiarity in the information or data that Google usually provides to its webmasters and Search Engine Optimization.
If this comes true, undoubtedly Google should be getting ready some serious competition from tech giants like Apple.
Whether or not Apple would be able to beat the popularity of Google as a search engine machine is still yet to be seen.
