App Launch, Connections, Insights and ICF AI Standards: June monthly update

Welcome to June edition!

We've been busy over the last couple of weeks, working on: our app launch, knowledge sharing, building strategic connections and building our own team AI mindset.

Here's a sneak peek into each.

App launch: Coachia by Kou?ing centar

• What it is: AI-augmented Learning System for Human Skills Development
• What it does: Coachia is an innovative platform designed to augment the human side of transformational and individualized learning experiences with AI.
• Meet our key AI tools: AI Mentor, AI Tutor, AI Simulator, AI Coach

Well, it is Kou?ing centar's first ever app! (music and fanfare, please). On June 26th we are launching the alpha version of our AI Learning System web app. This is an important milestone for our team and we are organizing a virtual launch event to say "hello" to the world ??.

As part of the event, we are very happy to announce our panel "AI and the Future of Learning". We'll be happy to chat with our dear guest panelists: Gabriele Galassi , Global Head of People & Organisational Development at Wise , Natalia Fedorova , Partnership Manager at Toloka , and Adrian Georgescu , Enterprise Commercial and Public Sector Lead at 微软 . AI and Human Development: Insights from Milan Gospi?

Microsoft is one of the global driving forces in AI development and its integration into human development, learning and work. Microsoft is pioneering AI research with focus areas on: understanding general AI and its capabilities, driving AI innovation that can adapt to new tasks, utilize long term memory and reason across multiple modalities, ensuring AI is fair, accountable, transparent and ethical, transforming scientific discovery and extending human capabilities.

In this "Side by side" chat with Milan Gospic , we explored implications of partnering with AI in a new computer era:

• AI as a cognitive partner
• AI as a metacognitive partner
• Team AI as a partner

One of the recent Microsoft research project that draw our attention at Kou?ing centar was on the interplay between AI and metacognition. In their study, the research team led by Lev Tankelevitch explore how metacognition provides a valuable perspective for understanding challenges of generative AI systems around prompting, assessing and relying on outputs, and workflow optimization. In their study, Tankelevitch and his team highlight the significant cognitive demands that generative AI systems place on users. These systems require users to engage in high levels of metacognitive monitoring and control to effectively interact with AI outputs.

In our own research at Kou?ing centar we also investigate metacognitive capabilities of AI and compare them with human metacognition in complex situational judgment. The inteplay between human and AI metacognition may serve in future as one of the playgrounds for human augmentation. Think of an AI tool that acts as a Metacognitive Coach that is available to you whenever you need it and helps you set goals, organize your own work and monitor your progress. That is only a glimpse into AI as a metacognitive partner from an L&D perspective.

Our own AI Mindset: Behind the scenes

Last day of May we organized an internal team event at Kou?ing centar with a title "AI Co-Creation". It was actually Tijana Karaklic 's, our Chief Operations Officer, idea to have a live team get together and jam on what we are building with AI. We settled on the river Sava and had some great time together. A couple of images as a teaser for now, and Luka Mitrovic committed himself to write a close up report in the next edition.

Tool recommendation: iki.ai

We are continuously on the lookout for new AI products and services that are connected to human or organizational learning. One that caught our attention was iki.ai , an app founded by Ivan Ilin and Max Orlov, that helps you and your team organize knowledge with the power of AI.

It all started with Jugoslav, who told me: "Hey, this looks like a great product". We contacted Ivan Ilin, chatted about the product. Then scheduled an interview. In the meanwhile iki earned a product top spot at Product Hunt. What we talked about:

• Metaphor for iki: Think of it as a smart, LLM-powered digital library for professionals and teams

First ever AI Coaching Standards by ICF

International Coaching Federation stands for the go to body when it comes to all things coaching. For the last 25 years it has served as a professional regulatory body, setting the standards of professional coaching. Beginning this June, ICF did something really fascinating. That is how I would describe the draft of the "Artificial Intelligence (AI) Coaching Framework and Standard".

This is huge news for all coaching and organizational ecosystem stakeholders because it is a step towards:

• Supporting the creation of AI coaching systems that are trustworthy and reliable.
• Providing a clear framework for developers to follow.
• Ensuring clients and organizations can confidently select AI coaching systems that meet established standards.

In our pursuit to bring AI to the coaching industry we are integrating AI in line with ICF draft of AI Coaching Framework and Standard. We are happy that our vision of AI augmented L&D and coaching goes along the same lines of thinking as ICF's vision of the field. We are now even more confident in our vision and commitment to research in human-AI interaction, in partnerships with leading tech firms, all with a goal to drive continuous innovation and leading the AI-augmented L&D.

Webinar: AI in L&D

In the spirit of knowledge sharing and community building around AI in L&D, we organized a free webinar featuring:

• Transformative use of artificial intelligence (AI) in coaching, tutoring, mentoring, and intervention design.
• Key role of feedback in AI interactions.
• AI as a partner for creativity and innovation in L&D.
• Prompt engineering and steps in designing your own AI agents in L&D.
• A practical demonstration using Mentimeter AI.
