App access checker for model-driven apps

If one of your users encounters difficulty accessing a Model-driven application, you can verify which applications the user can access in that environment.

Simply use the URL: https://environmentURL/WebResources/msdyn_AppAccessChecker.html and search for the user using their user principal name (UPN) or email address.

Visible.

  • If the user doesn't have read privilege on the app module table, none of the apps are visible to the user, and No is displayed.
  • If the user has read and/or write privilege on the app module table, then all the apps are visible and Yes is displayed.

License.

  • If the user has appropriate licensing to play the app, Yes is displayed.

Security.

  • If the user has create or write privilege on the app module table, Yes is displayed. If the user isn't associated to one or more security roles assigned to the app, check if the user is member of a team and whether the team is associated with that security role.

I’ve gotten huge use out of this hidden feature! I wish they would’ve put a link to it somewhere in the environment. I suspect many admins never knew it existed! Funny enough, they never fixed the typo of “assosiated” when somebody has no user roles.

I’ve not being able to access the link. ?? I’m curious as we have been working on an UI Automation checks for Power Platforms organization that has multiple PowerApps, to test (check) the permissions as part of smoke and regression testing to execute before going through the tests. This seems interesting add on to what we are working on. I have not come across this feature before. ?? Thanks for sharing.

model driven apps have become better in last 3 years. I still remember the first few versions. Everybody moved to canvas, but now model driven is getting bit more attention.
