Apostrophe Hosts Node.js Philly's Next Event

We'll be hosting a meet up event for Node.js Philly at our office in Philadelphia, and you're invited! Don't worry, you can tune in virtually if you're not in the area. It will be a great opportunity for our community to meet a few members of the Apostrophe team (maybe even the wordsmith behind your favorite monthly newsletter ). Without further ado, let's get into the details of that event.

Apostrophe Hosts a Node.js Philly at Philadelphia Office!

We're thrilled to announce that a pioneer in the Node community has agreed to deliver a presentation for the Node.js Philly Meetup (hosted by Apostrophe). Matteo Collina , co-founder and CTO of Platformatic, will be talking about what led him and his team to develop the platform and how developers can leverage it to reduce friction from backend development. Attendees will have the option of joining us at our Philadelphia office or logging in virtually. Don't miss out, RSVP today!

How To Use Advanced Permissions to Manage Editing Rights

As a companion piece to the Advanced Permissions setup guide we published to our documentation site last month, we're pleased to unveil our latest blog post designed to help users manage editing rights for their teams. In other words, you'll learn how to specify which members of your team can create, edit, delete, and publish content—in addition to creating new users and groups. Check out the full article and see why the Advanced Permissions module has been such a hit amongst Apostrophe Pro users.?Read more.

Have a Minute? Help Apostrophe Create Better Video Content!

If you're a regular reader of the Apostrophe newsletter, you've no doubt heard of the video tutorial series we published to our YouTube channel. In an effort to continuously improve upon our video content and provide more helpful resources to benefit our developer community, we're inviting anyone who had the chance to use our tutorials to provide feedback using this survey (via Google Forms). It should take no more than a minute to complete, but your responses will be invaluable in helping us achieve our goal.?Survey link.

Latest Release Highlights

Tabs for Custom Widgets

Your custom widgets can now have tabs! In the past, if you had a complex widget with a large number of schema fields, your content editors would have to scroll through all of those fields to find the one they wanted to edit. Now, much like the schema fields for pages and pieces, you can supply a group property to organize your fields into tabs. For widgets, the tabs are organized along the top of the modal, with a handy context menu when the number of tabs overflows the modal width.

Assembly Dashboard Refresh

Let's talk about the new dashboard for the @apostrophecms-pro/multisite extension! The new dashboard features an infinitely scrollable list, with quick links to the login and home pages of each site. We've also added a search and a new way to organize your template sites. Mark a site as a ‘Template’ in its settings to add it the Templates folder on the left. This should make it faster to find and duplicate templates when spinning up new sites.
