Support for NHS Charities Covid-19 Appeal
When the Coronavirus first struck in the UK, we at Limelight Sports, like thousands of other businesses, saw the huge impact that it was going to have on our working lives. However, now four weeks on we’ve started to see the real impact on the health and wellbeing of the population, as well as our total reliance on the magnificent NHS. Everyone has witnessed the incredible effort, bravery and, sadly, the sacrifices being made every day by the NHS workers on the front line in their efforts to keep us all safe.
Many of our team have volunteered to do something in their local communities, but as a company we wanted to do something to contribute as well. Over the next few weeks, we will be donating the entry fees from hundreds of places across our Autumn event portfolio directly to the NHS Charities Covid-19 Urgent Appeal
Up until the last Friday in May (or until all the places are sold), we are offering 250 places (#APlace2SayThanks) initially in 3 events. Each involving different fitness disciplines –a triathlon, a duathlon and a cycling event. Those who sign up will see their entry fee (minus VAT and Active’s platform fees) going directly to the appeal;
· The Blenheim Triathlon, 12 & 13 September – in partnership with Blood Cancer UK
· The London Duathlon, Sunday 6 September
· Virtual Etape Caledonia Cycling Challenge, 1 – 31 May 2020. To replace the cancelled live edition. All donations will be split 50%:50% between the NHS Charities appeal and our event charity partner Marie Curie who continue to do incredibly important work throughout the crisis
· We are working with some of our other clients and partners and hope to add more free places in other events in the coming days
Could you please help us to spread the word to people who are ready and willing to take on a fitness challenge in the Autumn? Let them know that they will directly be helping to support NHS staff.
