API 5L X60 pipe generally refers to the implementation of pipeline steel pipe, which is used to transport oil, steam and water extracted from the ground to oil and natural gas industry enterprises.Pipeline steel tube includes seamless steel tube and welded steel tube. Currently, welded steel tube types commonly used on pipelines in China include spiral submerged arc welding tube (SSAW), straight seam submerged arc welding tube (LSAW) and resistance welding tube (ERW). Seamless steel tube is generally selected when the diameter of pipeline is less than 152mm.

API 5L X60 pipe Feature:

1)High intensity. The main strength indexes of pipeline steel are tensile strength and yield strength. While high strength is required, the flexural strength ratio (the ratio of yield strength to tensile strength) of pipeline steel is also required, generally within the range of 0.85 ~ 0.93.

2)High impact toughness. Pipeline steel requires that the material should be of high enough impact toughness (crack initiation, crack suppression). As for the base material, when the toughness of the material meets the requirement of cracking prevention, its toughness can also meet the requirement of cracking prevention generally.

3)Low ductile and brittle transition temperature. Severe geographical and climatic conditions require pipeline steel to have sufficiently low ductile and brittle transition temperature.

4)Excellent hydrogen cracking (HIC) resistance and sulfide stress corrosion cracking (SSCC) resistance.
