Be apart of the sexual assault solution

Be apart of the sexual assault solution

I know ‘Sexual Assault’ can seem too big a subject.

?Not True!

?Many feel overwhelmed and ask?“what can I do?”?

Many think they know… until it’s too late!

“But I’ve taught them about body safety…”

“But I’ve taught them about consent…”

“But I’ve taught them that they don’t have to hug people…”

“But I’ve taught them about respect and being respectful…”

Many turn away because of various ‘personal’ reasons.

“The child is too young…”

“It won’t happen to my child…”

“I don’t talk about that sort of thing…”

“The school does a really good job and they’re better at this than me…”

Are these reasons valid enough to leave children unprotected?

We’ve marched and protested wanting someone else to make it right.

Many write… tweet… post… criticizing someone else for not doing something.

NOW its time we all play our part.

If we want change, we, as individuals, must choose.

Do you want to be on Team Rapist?

Or Team Solution?

If you’re Team Solution read on.?

Otherwise ask yourself why not?

Below is something you can do.

I'm looking for parents to help me help them and their children.?

As a survivor of multiple sexual assaults starting at the age of 5-years and having authored a best-selling book?“Insight: Up Close And Personal Profile of Sexual Assault”,?I am now looking to help parents educate their children and themselves, because every 9 minutes a child in Australia is sexually assaulted (https://m1psychology.com/the-facts-about-sexual-abuse-in-australia/).

Every.?

Nine.??

Minutes.

So, Team Solution, I've prepared a survey to gain insight into what parents think they know and want to know.?Your insights would be most valuable and help many parents and children.

If you're a parent I'd appreciate it if you could complete the survey and would be most grateful if you would be generous enough to share it with other parents to enable me to get a clear and substantial picture to enable me to instigate change in this area.

I've included my bio below for your information.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Biography - Michelle Sleight

Michelle’s history with sexual assault began at just five years of age, and over her lifetime she has been a victim of seven sexual predators.

It would be easy to understand why Michelle didn’t simply give up.

Instead, she has taken every opportunity to learn, understand, and make sense of sexual assault.

In 1997, Michelle stepped up and fought to have the trauma of sexual assault victims legally recognised, thereby setting a legal precedent.

In 2010, Michelle used her expert knowledge to stop a rapist in his tracks and prevent herself from being raped.

In 2021 Michelle published the bestseller?Insight: Up Close and Personal Profile of Sexual Assault,?sharing her unique expertise and valuable strategies, whilst exposing the myths and misconceptions that enable sexual predators to get away with it.

Her insights help people understand sexual assault, respond more resourcefully to instances of sexual assault; her intention being the change of sexual assault culture and the return of control to current and unsuspecting future victims, and the community as a whole.

Michelle knows the difference between being empowered and being a survivor. She shares her skills and processes helping other victims be free of trauma, triggers, and PTSD.

She offers a voice for victims and change, in what is a sea of silence – an area shrouded in fear, where resourceful change must take place.

Michelle holds a BA(Comm) from UTS and is a Registered and Certified Master?

Practitioner of NLP, Timeline Therapy? and Clinical Hypnotherapy.

Michelle lives in Brisbane with her husband Steve, and her daughters where she breeds the unique and rare Coton de Tulear along with her advocacy and coaching.
