ANZAC Centenary - 2015
This photograph was taken by Craig Power on the 23rd April 2015 from a cruise ship berthed at the town of Canakkale – Turkey.
As part of the ANZAC centenary celebrations, a single file line of Turkish, Australian, New Zealand and other allied warships sailed through the Dardanelle straits.
This is one of the busiest commercial water ways in Europe and it was a special occasion, as the entire strait was shut down and no other boats or ships were permitted to enter the area.
The Canakkale Martyrs Monument can be seen on the right-hand side of the picture.
We were fortunate and humbled to visit the town of Gelibolu (Gallipoli) and celebrated the ANZAC Dawn Service hosted by the Major of Gelibolu - Mustafa Ozacar

7 年I was there for the dawn service at Anzac Cove. The procession of warships silently moving past in single file as the sun rose on a cold morning was one of the most awesome things I've witnessed at such an emotionally charged occasion. Truly spectacular ????
