welcome to Monday and this week’s edition of our newsletter. For everyone who has subscribed to “Never Quit on Growing Yourself”, we sincerely appreciate it.
I was contemplating what to write about this week, and to get ideas I looked at photos that I have taken in my travels. This image of a SpaceX rocket on a barge in the Cocoa Beach area of Florida spoke to me as the epitome of never quit today.
For many years, NASA recovered rockets in pieces. The Saturn V rocket consisted of 3 sections, and each section separated at different times. 2 sections fell into the sea and were transported back to Cape Canaveral for repair and refurbishment. The 3 sections carrying the astronauts came back at the end of the mission (hopefully) and were transported back to the Cape for the same treatment. This was done because the technology didn’t exist or was so horribly expensive that having it all come back in one piece was not possible.
However, because of people who never quit learning, thinking, and desiring a different end result, that is no longer the case. NASA came up with the Space Shuttle program that allowed many astronauts to go aboard a spaceship glider to enter space much like we fly on airplanes today.
And in the image above, Elon Musk envisioned creating a rocket ship that could launch into space, re-enter the atmosphere, and land completely intact.
