Anything much to gulp down can be foolish & dangerous..!!

Every individual is unique in his own way when it comes to health aspects. Keeping oneself fit enough is a burning challenge in today’s busy world. Following inadequate diet, Lack of exercise, sleep & less water intake, being unhygienic etc. are disease causing factors is the news buzzing around.

People are instantly updated about the dos & don’ts w.r.t  food & lifestyle. Supplements play a major role standing in between the Food & medicine. In fact they are named as dietary/health/Food supplements as it can full fill the gaps of our imbalanced diet.

Why people opt for a supplement?

A well-balanced diet provides the right vitamins, minerals and nutrients to keep the body and mind strong and healthy. Eating well can also aid in the prevention of a variety of diseases and health problems, as well as helping to maintain a healthy body weight, providing energy and promoting a general feeling of well-being.

But many of us do not know what a balanced diet is or what should be the proportion of varied diet. So we opt for supplements. Now that does not mean we can choose any hook & crook dietary supplement as our daily requirement.

Know yourself & know the product before choosing the supplement.

Yes..!! Before choosing any supplement along with the varied diet it’s essential to know the quality purity, authenticity & potency of the product.

Make sure the company is Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certified and follows the rules & regulations. Also make sure about the research based natural ingredients in their products, know the supporting studies carried over to authenticate. You may also want to see if the company performs human trials to ensure they are safe and effective. Seeking out a health care provider trained in integrative medicine can be a step in the right direction to help you through the process of finding a high quality nutritional supplement that will meet your personal needs. Read the instructions & follow it according to the suggestions mentioned. If you are on conventional medicines it’s always better to take it after your physician’s advice.

Do not overload..!!

Too much of a good thing can negate any health benefits — and even pose health risks. Excessive food, supplement or water can be harmful on the long run. When we take excessive food we know it’s not appropriate .Then it’s similar in case of supplements like vitamins, minerals or water which is a nutrition too.

Wide-ranging information on the product & then the necessity of the supplement product is quite important. If this isn’t followed & one is blind towards the intake then one has to face its complications too. Few examples to quote are like too much high calcium can plaque the arteries & bring the risk of heart attack. Vitamin D blood levels exceeding 100 ng/mL can be dangerous. Too many antioxidants like can keep you away from natural killing of dead cells from the body.

Drinking plenty of water throughout the day aids in regulating body temperature, preventing constipation, flushing waste products out of the body, and many other important functions. But excessive water intake can cause Hyponatremia or loss of potassium. It can be dangerous because it throws off the balance between water and sodium in the blood. Signs of headache, nausea or loss of appetite can also be the result of over hydration. One needs to have food when hungry & drink water when feels thirst as it is the natural urge not to be suppressed. Too much water also makes your stomach feel bloated and heavy, and overburdens digestive organs. Only sip a small amount of water with your meals. If you drink too much while you eat, your belly won’t have enough room for digestive action. Remember this rule: fill your stomach 50% with food, 25% with water, and leave 25% empty for the digestive juices and process.
