Anything except contactless is for-Biden.
Pardon me for using such a terrible pun before we even start. Had to be done!
So this week, the whole world has had to compromise on their COVID-19 news consumption and save a crust for the US Presidential Election (which thankfully is now over).
Now that Trump has been, well, ‘trumped’ (again sorry), America can start edging back to better times, the Obama times so to speak. But we’re sadly going to be losing our daily dose of ‘Faulty Trump Towers’.
Given the UK’s forever passive role in the ‘special relationship’ this probably isn’t going to be quite as good for us. Given that our economy is the weakest it has been since post-war times and Brexit is more than likely about to come and shaft us in the coming months, all that you can do is stay positive and CARRY ON.
But it’s not all bad news…
As you may very well know, one of the fabulous things which have kept Your Apartment ticking over this year is contactless check-in and out. How does this link to the Presidential Election? Well, you just wait and find out.
Trump's very minimal efforts to control the COVID-19 crisis in the USA has left many feeling air travel is unsafe both for domestic and business purposes. But Biden wants to change this.
Upon his inauguration in the New Year, Biden is set to put in place various measures (like ours in Europe) to help bring COVID-19 cases back under control and boost trade. This including opening back up travel internally and externally this kick-starting tourism again.
And while this will be welcomed greatly across Europe, many Americans due to the lack of COVID guidance in America are quite frankly terrified of the health implications.
A report by Serviced Apartment News has subsequently claimed that 71% of Americans apparently prefer to book somewhere with contactless check-in/out since the outbreak back in March. A potential opportunity to be exploited if you don’t mind me saying.
So there is some potentially good news to come in terms of inbound tourism in 2021, and even better news that hopefully, contactless serviced apartments in the UK will move further into the spotlight.
Stay well everyone!
