Producers,

On the eve of a US election, many foreign exchange companies are putting out glossy presentations, packed with historical data, beautifully designed graphs and possible projections as to the elections impact to the US and Canadian dollar.

These presentation decks and webinars are designed to make clients feel that these companies have insights as to what's to come. The simple truth is, no one actually can accurately predict the outcome of the election and even if they could, its impact on the dollar would still be a guessing game. Producers will be urged to "lock in rates" by people who do not understand the uncertainty and flow of an upcoming production.

Producers, please focus on simple truths and practices to manage the currency risk on your upcoming productions:

  • Ensure your currency account for your new production entity is set up and ready to go.
  • Ensure your team is constantly resetting your budget rate to reflect the ever-changing currency market.
  • Until funding is secured and timelines set, don't be pressured to lock anything in.

If the bank or foreign exchange company you are working with:

  • Is not focused on your budget rate thorough the life of your production.
  • Does not understand your projects timelines and potential pitfalls.
  • Is using "Market Volatility' to try to push you into hedging before you are ready.
  • Tells you "it's a good time" to lock in your full budget every time you speak.

Its time you find someone else to manage your productions.

At www.e2emediagroup.com, our Partner currency professionals have managed hundreds of productions the right way.

Feel free to reach out to me and I will gladly set a meeting for you.
