Any ball will do. No, it won't.

Golf ball characteristics are designed to pair with your swing characteristics.
A "super titanium distance" golf ball, may go farther and even stay in play because it has less spin based on how it was manufactured and its dimple pattern. However, it will also go super titanium distance when it hits the green because it was not designed to have increased spin with shorter irons. Ever wonder why, when you hit a great shot into the green and then watch it run past the flag and off the green? Maybe it's the ball.
All golf balls have different spin characteristics. For long shots off the tee or from the fairway, do you need more spin to create a higher launch or less spin to create a shallower trajectory after the apex of the shot? I play a ball with low spin off the tee and more spin with my approach clubs when hitting into the green. My regular playing partner plays a ball with more spin off the tee to get a better trajectory (rainbow shape) off the tee and a ball with more spin to help hold the greens with approach shots.
Most golf ball brands carry a selection of golf balls offering different play characteristics. Get a fitting, understand when you need more or less spin, and then read the package. When a round of golf counts (a little side action), so too, should the ball you golf with.
Let's get better together!

Great Advice Lettie. I never really thought about that (but to be honest my shots to green rarely stay on the green ??
