Anxiety

Anxiety is a state of mind characterized by anxious feelings, worry, and physical changes such as hypertension. Anxiety disorders are characterised by persistent, unwanted thoughts or concerns. People experiencing anxiety may avoid certain situations because they are worried. Physical symptoms such as sweating, shivering, disorientation, or an increased heart rate can also be seen as indicative of an anxiety disorder.

Symptoms

  • Trauma: Adults and children who experience or endure trauma are more likely to develop anxiety.
  • Stress due to an illness Serious or chronic medical problems can trigger anxiety.
  • Stress build-up, whether?related to work, relationships, finances, or any other stress that is built up within us, can cause anxiety.
  • Personality: In some cases, an individual’s personality type may be the reason they experience anxiety.
  • Other mental health disorders: Other mental health disorders can often trigger anxiety.
  • Having blood relatives with an anxiety disorder Anxiety is genetic and can be passed on through blood relatives.
  • Drugs or alcohol: Substance abuse affects individuals in many ways, and anxiety can become one of them.

  • Feeling anxious, agitated, or stressed
  • Fear of the unknown, fear of the future, and death

Panic disorder

Panic disorder is a form of anxiety disorder associated with acute, recurring, and unpredictable panic attacks. Fear and anxiety are common reactions to stressful situations and occurrences. The panic disorder differs from normal fear and anxiety in that it is generally severe and appears out of nowhere.

Symptoms

  • Chest ache
  • Giddiness
  • Feelings of extreme fear that happen suddenly without notice
  • Coldness in the hands and feet
  • Hyperventilation
  • elevated heart rate
  • Perspiration
  • Shuddering
  • Feebleness

Signs

  • Avoiding any situation that may cause panic
  • Abrupt change in physical, emotional, and mental state
  • Uncontrollable emotional and physical reaction
