Antisemitism Surging Like Crazy
Despite the millions of dollars flowing through Jewish organizations for many years, antisemitism keeps getting worse.
Us Jews have had a very clear strategy since the Holocaust and this is the main concept it's all based on:
**** Let's keep reminding everyone of what happened in Germany - so that history can never repeat itself. ****
But now history is repeating itself - and no one is even asking if maybe this is the wrong way to prevent the escalation of hatred for the Jews.
Because not only are we not preventing the hate in 2024 - in our time it's getting much worse.
Did we really think all these institutions we've created over the years could protect us from the worst kind of hatred in the world?
The simple answer is that they could if they were doing the right things. But simply keeping track of the atrocities with statistics and reports isn't going to prevent the next disaster from happening.
Signing petitions and fundraising may be important - but let's not imagine that they're stopping the hate.
Online campaigns and new legislation may provide us with some sense of temporary security - but they won't extinguish the hate.
Pure human hatred is a very powerful thing. Thinking a specific group of people are responsible for all your problems is an overwhelming feeling that becomes very hard to contain when the blood goes to the head.
As you can see by the latest developments, all this keeps escalating:

We Have So Many Jewish Organizations ....
When I started thinking about today's post, the first thing that came to mind is how many Holocaust Museums do we actually have? We have a few dozen museums dedicated specifically to remembering that atrocity and we have the International Holocaust Memorial Day every January.
We have such a wide variety of Jewish organization, we have private Jewish schools, we have places like the Catskills and the Hamptons where all the Jews hang out, we have Jewish media, Jewish funds and philanthropy, lots of new groups springing up over the last few years seeking to combat online hate, and now also to combat campus antisemitism - many organizations with fantastic mission statements and massive budgets.
But somehow - antisemitism keeps getting worse.
We need to start thinking about what's missing.
Because if all these institutions are not protecting us and our children?
We need to start thinking about what will ....
And we need to do it fast.
I used to buy ‘stuff’. Now I buy businesses.
