If exploiting conventional oil and gas reservoirs is compared to squeezing water out of a sponge, then low-permeability and ultra-low-permeability oil and gas reservoirs are like towels that have been dried, and it is difficult to squeeze water out of them. Here we use fracturing technology.
Fracturing is the use of high-pressure pumps on the ground to inject large-volume, high-viscosity liquids into the formation through the wellbore, and build up high pressure at the bottom of the well. When the pressure exceeds the bearing capacity of the formation, cracks will form in the formation near the bottom of the well.
Continue to inject the fracturing fluid carrying proppant, the fractures will gradually extend forward, and the proppant will support the fracture, forming a sand-filled fracture with a certain size and high conductivity, so that oil and gas can easily flow into the well through the fracture to achieve production stimulation Injection effect.
Commonly used fracturing fluids are: water-based, oil-based, emulsified, foam, acid-based and other types. Among them, the most widely used is water-based fracturing fluid.
The fracturing fluid has a high-pressure impact on the formation rock due to high-pressure launch, other chemical additives need to be added during use, and the oil itself contains gas, all of which will lead foams problems.
Too much foam will reduce the production efficiency and increase the cost. It will also affect the quality of oil products. Excessive foam will change the viscosity of fracturing fluid and affect its performance. Foam compresses, affecting pump efficiency. Moreover, when loading tanks, ships, and trucks, the existence of foam will affect the metering and loading efficiency, and then reduce the natural production capacity of the oil well, reduce the benefits. Defoaming agent is very necessary here.
Silicone defoamer is used most commonly in fracturing.
