1. The Problem

Most people take a shotgun approach to their marketing efforts.

They jump from one tactic to another without giving any of them their full attention.

I know because that was me… trying EVERYTHING to attract clients to my occupational therapy practice without seeing any results.

I'd get excited about a new marketing strategy, pour a ton of energy into it for a few weeks, and then get distracted by the next big thing.

The result?

A bunch of half-finished projects and mediocre results.

It was exhausting.

When I say, I was trying everything… I mean everything.

  • Dropping off flyers
  • Sending cold emails
  • Networking with gyms
  • Attending local events
  • Hosting lunch and learns
  • Hanging with chiropractors

The list goes on…

Having no idea what I'm doing.

2. The Story

That was until I realized a simple truth.

It all works… but only if I FOCUS.

Eventually, I decided to invest heavily in the local events, and unsurprisingly, this led to more patients.

That was until I got fired.

To be honest, I would have fired me too.

Although my newfound marketing insight was starting to work, it was simply too little too late.

But here’s the deeper lesson…

Reflecting on life lessons (between sets).

3. The Solution

If you truly want to improve your marketing efforts… choose one channel or tactic that you want to master and go deep.

Examples:

  • Email
  • Blogging
  • LinkedIn
  • Instagram
  • YouTube
  • Podcasting
  • Local networking
  • Facebook groups
  • Probably not TikTok. ??

Choose ONE and eliminate the rest.

Block off 4-hours a day to focus solely on your chosen marketing tactic and then… wait.

It’s rarely about doing more things… it’s almost always about doing less… but better.

Staying focused

Take home point…

  • Focus on ONE thing.
  • Master the fundamentals.
  • Be patient and persistent.
