In anticipation of the emerging aliveness
For a while, I’ve been carrying a sense of anticipation. Of knowing that something was about to emerge, yet not knowing what…
Some of this is tied to my exploration of Be More Poet, with Rick Rubin’s words from The Creative Act: A Way of Being for navigation:
'The work reveals itself as you go.'
And yet, it’s more than this.
Discovering Anne Hillman’s poem yesterday captured beautifully what I am feeling.
WE LOOK WITH UNCERTAINTY
We look with uncertainty
beyond the old choices for
clear-cut answers to a softer, more permeable aliveness
which is every moment
at the brink of death;
for something new is being born in us
if we but let it.
We stand at a new doorway,
awaiting that which comes…
daring to be human creatures,
vulnerable to the beauty of existence.
Learning to love.

8 个月Is that a witch hazel? There is something about the absolute gloom of the winter season that makes spring so much more joyful. Your picture catches it so well. It is "life in spite of..." - perhaps we need to see how precarious it is to value life's miracle fully?
