Anthony Gray Inducted as a Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation

We are thrilled to report that our President and CEO, Anthony J. Gray, was inducted this week as a Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation. This prestigious honor is by nomination only, can be conferred to no more than 2.5% of the Bar’s membership, and is extended only to those attorneys in Wisconsin who have “achieved significant accomplishments in their career and contributed leadership and service to their communities.” Together, Fellows work to further the causes of justice, the profession, and legal education.

“I’ve always supported the Wisconsin Law Foundation because I truly believe its mission—working to expand ethical conduct, public understanding, and access to the legal system—is more important than ever before,” said Gray. “That’s why it was such an incredible honor to be inducted as a Fellow. Aside from being a truly humbling experience, it offers a wonderful opportunity for me to help in the Foundation’s fight to make Wisconsin a more equitable and just place.”

Some of the programs that the Wisconsin Law Foundation’s Fellows have helped enable in the past have been the Wisconsin High School Mock Trial Program, community adolescent programs, justice task forces, Our Courts Wisconsin, and various publications in legal education—all designed, in their own way, to advance justice, aid public understanding of the system, and improve access to legal services.

The annual recognition dinner was held at the Edgewater Hotel in Madison, WI, with remarks given by the President of the Fellows Board of Trustees, Louis B. Butler, Jr., a former Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Along with recognizing the 2017 class of Fellows, the dinner also occasioned to honor four former governers of Wisconsin—Gov. Martin J. Schreiber, Gov. Anthony S. Earl, Gov. Tommy G. Thompson, and Gov. James E. Doyle, Jr.—with the Charles L. Goldberg Distinguished Service Award.
