Ansys meshing | What is the pinball radius in Ansys meshing?

  • Pinball radius is nothing but the radius of the sphere. in Ansys, this feature is known as the Sphere of Influence. sphere of Influence is an available option in the Type field if you selected a body, face, edge, or vertex, and the ‘Use Advanced Size’ Function is off. Sphere of Influence behaves as a Hard setting. The Sphere of Influence mesh modifies pre-existing sizing(mesh) which is inside a sphere.

  • It is a very common option available in face sizing and vertex sizing and similar to face sizing and vertex sizing. Mesh will modify inside the sphere region. In the sphere of influence option, first, we select sphere center then sphere radius, and last element size for region inside the sphere.
