If The Answer Was Certain, What Is The Question?

Offshore Energy Construction & Installation Professional: Creative & Innovative Solutions to Offshore Project Challenges
Scenario:
You have spent your life in the offshore oil and gas industry. You have had all the training you can get for your discipline and you have risen up in the offshore O&G world but then, forces outside your control have taken over your life. The price of oil falls dramatically, but this is not just a dip in the market. As time progresses the price stays down with no sign of recovery. Companies start posting losses in quarterly returns. Projects start getting delayed, postponed or cancelled altogether. Then you hear that contracts are not being renewed and staff numbers are being cut, and you are next.
You may be reasonably comfortable but know that your savings won’t last forever. You have been sending your C.V. into the recruitment black hole where it just disappears forever. You look at transferring your skills into another industry but find they have different rules and qualification criteria which you don’t meet. Prospects are not looking good and you are wondering what the future will bring.
If you were in this scenario and could ask one question, knowing that you will get the answer, what would that question be?

9 年Am I prepared for worst. Meaning, do I always have a realistic plan B, so I will not be taken by surprise. Honestly, the development of off-shore after 2008 was a paper only one. No sane man could dream that it will last forever. Oil before was $25. One could not be taken serious if making plans on $140. Off-shore is here to stay, for a while at least. The needed, qualified, proven specialists will remain. And some smart opportunists
