As networks get denser and new radio transmissions are added to the atmosphere, it will continue to be critical to monitor the electric field power levels to ensure public safety. The Field Master Pro MS2090A offers two solutions for regulators or network operators to make measurements of the electromagnetic field.

Option 444 EMF Measurement uses the spectrum analyzer sweep and a tri-axial isotropic antenna to measure field strength in frequency-specific bands in all spatial directions. This is useful for both LTE and 5G FR1 to ensure radios are not transmitting excessive power.

Option 445 supports the 2000-1985-R EMF Probe, which makes broadband field strength measurements in the 20 MHz to 40 GHz band. With 5G FR2 and all other mmWave technologies now mixing with existing lower frequency applications, this is an excellent tool for ensuring that overall EMF power is not exceeding FCC or ICNIRP limits in a given location.

The 2000-1985-R EMF probe connects to any USB port on a Field Master Pro? MS2090A with Option 445, which reports the measured power as a percentage of FCC (public or technician) or ICNIRP (public or technician) regulatory limits.

To conduct pass/fail testing, users have the option of implementing ICNIRP pre-defined limits or create custom limits. The Field Master Pro MS2090A automatically logs the measurement data for use in reports or post processing.
