Another Year Over and A New One Just Begun by Marc LeVine

“Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.” - Carl Bard

Well, it’s over!

Or has it just begun?

That’s the dilemma we face at the end of one year and the start of another.

Isn't it just a different kind of “Is the glass half empty or half full” question?

It’s a matter of individual perspective with no right or wrong answer.

Factually, 2023 DID just end and 2024 just began.

These facts themselves do not help us answer any questions we may have in mind.

But, opinions DO matter, here. It is all about your take on turning the page from one year to the next. For some, it matters a lot. To others? Maybe, not so much.

The start of a new year is a great time to reflect on the past year and set new goals for the future.

Is the new year ripe for an EXCITING, brand-new start? Or, as Calvary Hospital's motto states is it just "Where Life Continues." YAWN. You choose what frame of mind will guide you through the next 365 days - sheer excitement and hope for an even brighter future or general apathy and the "Same old." What attitudinal choice you make will surely govern your energy, passion, and success for the foreseeable future. It may empower you or deflate you.

2023 just ended. Don't you want to take some quality time to reflect on 2023 and see what you learned from it and what you can apply to achieve success in 2024 and beyond?

YES or NO?

2024 just began and do you want to make solid plans to accomplish whatever it is you are hoping to achieve this year?

YES or NO.

The start of a new year is a great time to reflect on the past year and set new goals for the future. Here are some tips to help you realign and revitalize yourself:

  • Reflect on your accomplishments: Take some time to reflect on what you’ve accomplished in the past year and what you’re proud of.This will help you appreciate your progress and motivate you to continue working towards your goals.
  • Declutter your life: Get rid of excess baggage by decluttering your social media feeds, unsubscribing from uninspiring newsletters, and deleting unnecessary files from your digital devices. This will help you reduce decision fatigue and create more balance and contentment in your life.
  • Recharge your batteries: To get closer to making your big goals a reality, you need to make time to relax amid the craziness.Take a step back, stop rushing, and give yourself time to breathe before the New Year.
  • Set realistic goals: Choose realistic goals that are sustainable for the long term.Make sure your goals are specific and measurable, not vague. This will help you stay motivated and focused on your goals.
  • Explore new avenues: Explore new avenues to achieving your goals.
  • Seek mentors and learn from others who have achieved similar goals. This will help you gain new perspectives and insights. Perform random acts of kindness: Perform more random acts of kindness. This will help you feel good about yourself and make a positive impact on others. Remember, the start of a new year is a great time to reset, reflect, and recharge. Take some time to focus on yourself and your goals, and you’ll be well on your way to a happy and prosperous new year!
