Worker Retention: 1 in 4 US workers would rather a root canal than have to work in their offices five days a week, according to Monster ’s latest survey. 38% also said they would quit a job that required just one day onsite. “These staggering statistics reveal a clear shift in workers' attitudes towards the traditional office environment, and companies that fail to adapt to this change risk losing their most valuable asset: their employees,” said Author and Consultant, Dr. Gleb Tsipursky . “I ask leaders every week what their top concern is, and most say it’s hiring and retaining talented staff. A flexible hybrid work model that allows for some full-time remote work is the future for anyone who cares about worker retention, increased productivity, access to a wider talent pool, cost savings, and overcoming cognitive biases. The time for companies to implement this model is now. Willing to Take a Cut: Americans have grown so fond of working from home that many are willing to sacrifice pay for the privilege of skipping the office, reports CBS News . A recent survey by Robert Half , which polled thousands of U.S. employees and hiring managers about their attitudes toward remote work, showed workers are willing to take a pay cut — with an average reduction of 18% — to remain fully remote. It found that roughly three-quarters of workers said they are happier and more productive when they're working from home despite sometimes having to work longer hours.?Read Full Article.

Employees Want to Choose: CEOs who see remote work as a perk have it all wrong, reports Fast Company . During the recent World Economic Forum , 摩根士丹利 CEO James Gorman took a hard stance against the increasingly popular remote work trend. “Employees don’t get to choose their compensation,” he said. “They don’t get to choose their promotion, they don’t get to choose to stay home five days a week.” But workers beg to differ, and executives should be wary of dismissing their concerns, even as widespread layoffs give hiring managers an advantage. It Only Worked for Men: “Flexibility is the new currency,” said Ellevest Co-founder & CEO and former 花旗 CFO Sallie Krawcheck . Companies looking to recreate pre-pandemic ways of working are going to be left behind when it comes to keeping and attracting the best talent. The problem, Krawcheck said, is that the pre-pandemic work environment “worked for white men, not everyone, and certainly not women and under-represented groups.” Speaking to a group of mostly male CFOs at a private event in New York City, she asked them to look around the room. “Who’s missing from here? If we want to go back to the way it was, then acknowledge that you know it works mainly if you’re a man and have a wife at home.” The most progressive leaders are not looking to return to pre-pandemic ways, Krawcheck said, but are striving to offer arrangements that work for all.
