Another very rare (007 spec) Aston Martin

This car had an interesting history and I was lucky enough to own her for a couple of years. She is a very rare DB5 Vantage from the factory so 1 of 47 cars produced and even less finished in the famous Silver Birch (007 colours).

When I bought her I consulted with the late, great Roger Stowers who was the Historian and knew all facts relating to Aston Martin. Roger confirmed that the car was indeed a DB5 Vantage and was exactly as it left the factory (he gave me the date and the name of the chap who collected her) all apart from one thing, it had returned a year or so later to have one of the latest fashion items fitted, a  Webasto sunroof.

So with this information and without hesitation I removed the webasto and gave the car to my dear friend Lawrence to re-fit the roof as it originally left the factory. Some interior fitments were not easy to source however patience paid off and the car roof was repainted in her original colour and looked spectacular.

Some time later, I was offered a ￡figure to part with her which was not far off double my cost and so she went to a new custodian who then had her completely rebuilt by two of the best marque specialists in the business. Today her value is closing fast towards the ￡million mark, it may have already got there with her wonderful history and rarity.
