Another successful project completed for Scutum South West, supporting the local community.

After the horrific Keyham shooting of several residents in 2021, the community was left shocked and in need of care and support. Keyham shed, a former ground keepers hut located at Northdown Park, Plymouth, had been abandoned and unloved and seemed the perfect space to bring the community back together.

?A campaign lead by Hazel Lynch began, organised by Keyham Neighbourhood Watch , to refurbish and re-open the building to provide a space for the local community to use.

?Senior Information Systems Engineer, Chris Morton at Scutum Digital, also a local resident of Keyham, responded to a post in a local Keyham Facebook page lamenting some recent vandalism.

“The existing CCTV equipment was unsuitable and was subsequently vandalised, I mentioned that I work for a local company who specialise in CCTV, and that I would speak to a few people at work to see if we could help.” Reports Chris.

?A small team from Scutum South West consisting of Jeff Wilbourne , Paul Lawson , Jamie Carr, Hugh Razawu and Liam Hewins were involved in the installation of a 海康威视 CCTV Recorder and 4 vandal resistant cameras at the end of July.

The building now remains secure ready for the next stages of development and we wish the project and residents well.”

It's so wonderful to see how security companies can support communities and pulling together with other groups to benefit the local area.
