Another Semi-Blackout in Iraq

Iraqi electrical power system on the verge of collapse again.

Failure to find the root cause of the electrical power system is a major failure of the political governing system.

Electrical power system can operate reliably if and only if there is a functional governing system, a truth that Alkhadimi tries to ignore as ignored by all who preceded him in the rule of the country since its occupation in 2003.

Randomness and fire fighting plans will never solve the energy crisis in Iraq.

The country has no clear energy strategy, which is required to have full overview and control over all resources in the country. The country missing a long term planning for energy security ( single sourcing of imported gas and electricity a clear evidence ).

Blaming the weather, the terror , or fuel shortage are narrations which are not accepted by Iraqi citizens.

The ministry of electricity is suffering from multi disciplinary, multidimensional problems including but not limited to chaos in planning, bad management, and corruption.

Every and each minister after 2003 came with moon landing projects to solve the power problem.

One claimed that his plan to restore Iraq power system was the first comprehensive and complete plan since the establishment of Iraq as a country.

One promised to export electricity by 2013 and since then Iraq payed billion of dollars to import gas and electricity from Iran.

others were very keen to signs MOUs which all ends up in the trash can of next assigned minister.

Recently, amazingly one wanted to build power plant outside Iraq in the same single source country who cut the supply of gas and electrical power leaving Iraqi freezing this winter and left Iraqi last summer in the tourchering heat.

Now suddenly they want to have renewable and inviting a specific supplier to guide them through Hydrogen (Another moon landing project)

I hope they are able to understand the challenges of utilizing renewable in a weak non reliable network such that they built.

My last hope that they are able to understand the % of allowable hydrogen in air to avoid the explosion!
