We've been hard at work at Delvaux Law, and I am excited to share the successful resolution?of one of our discrimination cases. Here is a quick case breakdown:
A new mother applied for a job. She was offered the job. She accepted the job and resigned from her current position. She then asked for pumping accommodations. The company rescinded the job offer.
It probably comes as no surprise that the mother was no longer able to recover her previous job. She was also rejected from a pending mortgage application because she was unable to show that she was employed. She lost her housing and had to move into the home of her in-laws with a new baby.
After our representation, this mother was compensated for her financial and emotional harm, and will be able to create comfortable and secure conditions for her family.

So the moral of the story? We are putting all companies on notice: don't F with moms.
We will not stand for it. We will fight back. It will be the last time you betrayed a mother, and it will be the last time you underestimated her, too.
I say it all the time: the law is a powerful tool.
I don't say it lightly or because it sounds nice. I say it over and over again because I want to drive the message home. Women and mothers do not need to sit back and accept it when they are being mistreated at work. There are laws in place to protect us, and using those laws can improve far more than our personal situations. It can help drive change that improves workplaces for our fellow women and mothers.
You do not have to tolerate discrimination, harassment, or wrongful termination. You can use the law to combat injustices.
That is what it is there for. And that is the bread and butter of what my team and I do. We are on a mission to support women and mothers like you.
Today we celebrate another victory. And behind the scenes we continue to advocate and fight!
