Another Milestone for Oleo-Fats

As part of our sustainability efforts, Oleo-Fats is happy to announce that we are now a proud member of the Sustainable Coconut & Coconut Oil Roundtable. By joining the roundtable, we are committed to improving the livelihoods and incomes of farmers, replanting coconut trees, investing in traceability, enhancing farmers’ access to technology, and preventing deforestation and encroachment.?

The roundtable was organized in 2019 to address the challenges commonly faced by coconut buyers, processors, and suppliers. The growing popularity of coconut products in different industries has driven the rapid growth of the international coconut market. Although the Philippines is one of the largest producers of coconut oil, the increasing global demand has already outpaced the supply. To move forward, there is a need to sustainably produce our Philippine coconut products.??

Joining the roundtable is a milestone for Oleo-Fats and a testament to our commitment to finding solutions for our farmer-partners. We recognize the production challenges causing their low income and incentive.?

This is only the beginning of our sustainability efforts as your world-class food partner. Moving forward, we will implement our own programs to minimize environmental impact and to improve socio-economic welfare of our Filipino farmers.
