In the past two years, approximately 15 million people have bid farewell to our beloved homeland.
The speed at which Pakistanis are leaving the country today is unprecedented. It is estimated that nearly 15 million people have left Pakistan in the last two years to settle in other countries, driven by a pervasive atmosphere of uncertainty—a climate cultivated by our elite class over 77 years.
Unfortunately, in the past 77 years, we have failed to establish a system that determines who will govern the country. Sometimes, power is seized under the pretext of "My dear fellow countrymen," while at other times, politicians join hands with them to take control of the government. Meanwhile, the poor citizens have become mute and deaf spectators in this game of musical chairs.
Today, the situation is such that the average person is deeply worried about Pakistan's future. Instead of chanting "Long live Pakistan," they are increasingly adopting the motto "Escape Pakistan alive." A tragic example of this is the heart-wrenching incident in June 2023, when approximately 400 Pakistanis drowned in the unforgiving waves of the sea near Greece. This tragic incident came to light due to media coverage, but every year, thousands lose their lives trying to enter other countries illegally. Even if they somehow make it, the life they lead is known only to God.

The oppression doesn't just affect the elite, i.e., the rulers; the common man is born only to suffer humiliation and death. In our society, if something wrong happens to an ordinary person, our response is usually a few words of sympathy or silent acceptance as fate. But if a similar injustice befalls a ruler, the same poor and ordinary people weep and raise a storm. Perhaps they do this out of fear, thinking that if such a powerful person can be wronged, they, too, are easy prey.
You can gauge the state of our justice system from the news on August 8, 2024, which made headlines in almost all newspapers, where the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court himself sought forgiveness for the courts' failure to resolve a murder case for 27 years. It is with great sadness that I must say that for a long time, our beloved country has been running on a system of oppression and despair, with the game of musical chairs for power ongoing. The elite, with their fine acting, have been fooling the public for decades, and each passing day is becoming increasingly difficult for the common man.
The political structure of Pakistan has become such that it is now nothing short of a miracle for an ordinary person to become a member of the National or Provincial Assembly or a Senator. Financial corruption in Pakistani politics began after the 1985 elections, when, for the first time, members of the National Assembly were given budgets in the name of development schemes. Previously, politicians would sell their lands to fund their politics, but in today's Pakistan, land grabbers and contractors are racing to become politicians. These modern politicians spend money to win elections and then try to run Pakistan by making policies of their choice. According to one of our former Prime Ministers, the National Assembly of Pakistan is filled with a large number of looters. Historically, humans have sold their faith, seized wealth, and spilled blood to gain power because the intoxication of power is so strong that a person will do anything for it.
Today’s politicians spend millions to earn billions, and if caught, they cry out about revenge. When arrested, they hire expensive lawyers, and in any case, the truth is a big lawyer, and lies a small one. The common man, and especially the younger generation, have been observing all these scenes closely for the past several decades and are highly confused about what the standard for truth and lies is in this country. Turning an accused into a criminal and a criminal into an accused is now child’s play for our system.
Today, if you observe Pakistan's system closely, you will see groups of powerful people tearing apart our beloved homeland like predators, while the skies of our country mourn with the cries of the oppressed. This is why the younger generation today finds all the business of truth and lies, principles and lack thereof, to be fraudulent. And this is why their first priority today is to "escape Pakistan alive."
