Another day, another honor for Huntsville
If you’re an Alabama resident looking to settle down, you may not have to look too far.
Huntsville was recently ranked eighth in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Places to Retire list.
For their ranking, the site primarily looked at:
?? Happiness of residents
?? Housing affordability
?? Tax rates
?? Health care quality.
This is not the Rocket City’s first appearance on a U.S. News & World Report top ten list.
Since 2022, Huntsville has been highly ranked on the site’s Best Places to Live list.
'This is a game changer for this city.’
Allegiant Air announced earlier this week that it will begin commercial air service in May 2025 from Gulf Shores, offering six new destinations at the same time the coastal Alabama city is set to complete an $8 million temporary commercial passenger terminal.
“This is a game changer for this city,” said Jesse Fosnaugh, who took over as director at the Gulf Shores airport about a month ago.
Another health care option in Magic City
The new $120 million Cooper Green outpatient clinic is opening in December, set to provide healthcare to Jefferson County residents regardless of their ability to pay.
The new building offers primary and specialty care clinics, urgent care, physical, occupational and speech therapy, laboratory services, imaging and a pharmacy.
