Another day, another breach.

It’s becoming almost a weekly occurrence now that organisations both big and small are making headlines due to a cyber-attack or breach. We ended last year with the Guardian newspaper suffering a ransomware attack and we closed off January (just 4 weeks into 2023) with 14 UK education institutes, Royal Mail and now JD Sports suffering from a data breach.

The statement “It's not 'if' but 'when' a cyber-attack will happen” has never been more prevalent than todays interconnected Internet of Everything world.

IBM’s yearly breach report showed that that in 2022 the time to detect took on average of 277 days (about 9 months) to identify and contain a breach. Shortening the time it takes to identify and contain a data breach saves money, time and reputation.

So how does your cyber security strategy for 2023 look?

Is this the year that you get proactive and question whether that that anti-virus you’ve had for years that ‘doesn’t create too much noise’, might not be providing you the right level of protection.
